Fred Fenster

Fred Fenster is Professor Emeritus from UW-Madison. He led the UW art metals program for over 28 years.

Fenster trained at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan and works in gold, silver and pewter. His primary interests are in designing functional hollowware for the home and ceremonial pieces for church, synagogue and special occasions.

Fenster received the Underkofler Excellence in Teaching Award in 1999, was elected to the American Craft Council College of Fellows in 1995 and has work included in the Smithsonian Institute at Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C.; Milwaukee Art Museum; National Museum Contemporary Art, Seoul, Korea; and the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI.
