Lee Weiss

Lee Weiss attended the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland and became a designer in San Francisco. Currently, she lives in Madison and has had more than 123 solo shows since 1959 and has participated in numerous group and invitational exhibitions as well. She has received a variety of awards, including the Emily Lowe Memorial Award at the American Watercolor Society, Medal of Honor for Watercolor at the Knickerbocker Artists, the First Award at the Illinois Seven-State Regional Exhibition in Springfield and five consecutive awards at Watercolor U.S.A. among many others. Three of her paintings were selected by the Smithsonian Institution for display in the White House in 1969 and 1972, and her watercolors belong to many important private and public collections. She is a member of the American Watercolor Society and is a Life member and supporter of Wisconsin Visual Artists, formerly known as Wisconsin Painters & Sculptors.
