Tom Loeser is a professor in the Art Department at UW-Madison and is currently the Department Chair.  He teaches beginning and advanced woodworking at the undergraduate and graduate levels and maintains an independent workshop on Madison's East Side where he produces functional and non-functional objects, which he exhibits nationally and internationally. A current project is a set of three reading willow "pods" which will be installed in the Children's area of the new downtown Madison Public Library, offering a cozy space for kids (and nimble adults) to snuggle up with a book. His work is included in various public collections among them, the Yale University Art Gallery, The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Museum of Art and Design and the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
