Frank Lloyd Wright

Year inducted: 2004

Frank Lloyd Wright was one of America’s and indeed the world’s greatest imaginative and influential architects. His seven-decade career produced architectural forms that were stylistic and technically innovative, with nature providing inspiration to his principles of design. By 1910 Wright had become internationally famous, but never established an architectural style that was dominant in America or Europe, even though he completed work in 35 states. Nevertheless, Wright, his buildings, and their inherent style are as recognized today as much as anytime during his lifetime.
